THE PEOPLE BEHIND BELEARN
Meet the hearts behind BeLearn
We started BeLearn because too many capable students quietly fall behind, and nobody notices until it shows up on a report card.
Building a brighter future for learning

OUR STORY STARTS HERE
Why we started BeLearn
BeLearn started with a pattern we both kept noticing. Bright students, sitting in classes of thirty, quietly falling behind because nobody had the time to work out where exactly they got lost. Not because they lacked ability. Because the room moved faster than they did, and asking for help started to feel like admitting defeat.
We had both been that student at some point, and we had both watched people we care about become that student.
Tutoring already solves this. The hard part is finding the right tutor, trusting them with your child, and knowing whether any of it is actually working.
So we built BeLearn. A tutoring service where a real person matches your child to a tutor, checks in on progress, and stays accountable for the outcome.
Builds the product and the systems behind it.
Tife holds a First Class degree in Computer Science from Aston University and works in forensic technology, where the job is finding the signal inside very large, very messy sets of data. He has spent five years building for the web, and he owns everything technical at BeLearn: the matching process, the site, and the tools tutors and parents use. He cares about this because education was the thing that widened his own options, and he wants that to be less of a lottery for the next student.
Looks after parents and keeps students supported.
Sally studied Psychology and has spent years working directly with young people, from classroom support to one to one mentoring. That experience taught her how much of a student’s progress depends on feeling understood before anything academic happens. At BeLearn she runs the parent relationship and student support side: onboarding families, checking in after sessions, and stepping in early when a student needs something different. She does this because she has seen how quickly a young person turns a corner once someone is genuinely paying attention.
We’re early, and we’re not hiding it
BeLearn is new. That means there is no call centre, no ticket number, and nobody passing you between account managers. Right now, when you join BeLearn, you are dealing with the two of us.
We read every message. We match every student ourselves. If something goes wrong, you can email a founder directly and get a real answer the same day.
We will not always be this small. For now, it is the best thing about us.
What we believe
Matched, never assigned
We choose the tutor ourselves with your child in mind, and we change it without fuss if the fit is wrong.
Progress you can actually see
You hear from us as the work happens, instead of waiting for results day to find out whether it worked.
Fewer tutors, better tutors
We would rather turn a tutor away than put an average one in front of your child.
Confidence comes first
Grades follow a student who believes they can do it, so we work on both at the same time.
How we choose the people we put in front of your child
Enhanced DBS check
Every tutor is DBS checked before their first session. There are no exceptions to this, ever.
A real interview
We speak to every tutor ourselves. Not just about what they know, but about how they handle a student who is stuck and embarrassed about it.
Verified qualifications
We check degrees and subject grades against actual documents, rather than taking a CV at its word.
A trial session first
Your first session is a trial. If the match is not right, we rematch you at no cost.
We answer our own emails. If you have a question about a tutor, a session, our pricing, or whether BeLearn is even the right fit for your child, write to us. One of us will reply.
Tife and Sally, Co-Founders
We’re here to make learning feel more intentional.
BeLearn exists so every student can grow with confidence, curiosity, and the right person in their corner.
